Five prestigious Institutions proposed for Jammu, J&K

Central Government gifted Jammu with most prestigious institutions like - IIT, IIM and AIMS in UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

Modi Govt wants to boost J&K's economy as under his governance development model.  Aimed to make Jammu and Kashmir's ecosystem favourable for more investments in the state, with this vision the government has introduce the plans to open institutions like these across the region. These institutions, spanning education, healthcare, and technology sectors, with this step it bring significant benefits to the state's economy and people's development.

1. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu

As per plan the central government has allocated INR 1,500 crores for the establishment of an IIT Jammu. Land of 159 acres in Jagti, Jammu, allocated for the institute and its expected to be fully functional by 2023, with academic sessions commencing soon.

2. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu.

The next one is IIM, famous institute for management studies, around INR 1,000 crores has been allocated for IIM Jammu's setup and surprisingly it too be construct in Jagti Only! with a campus spread over 200 acres as mentioned by authorities. And it is anticipated that it can be operational by 2023, offering management programs and research opportunities.

3. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Vijaypur, Jammu

In the row of making health system sound in the state, AIIMS is another milestone, AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences). hospitals located across various cities in India. Now planned to be open in Jammu, with this people of state can get better medical facilities in their state now. as earlier with lack of health care system they tend to go for other states for better treatment The central government has sanctioned INR 1,200 crores for AIIMS This will be establish and will be Situated in Vijaypur, Jammu, covering an area of 150 acres.
Project delivery timelines are expected to commence medical services by late 2022, providing advanced healthcare facilities to people of Jammu and Kashmir and nearby states.

4. Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle (Ladakh)

To Make India one step ahead in space exploration programs  An allocation of INR 500 crores has been made for the observatory's expansion and modernization. This will help to study deep space in more accurate way. Geographically Ladakh regions is suitable for this and most of the time sky remains clear. with this favourable conditions the project was proposed for in Ladakh It will be located near Leh in Ladakh, the observatory's facilities will be upgraded and expanded.

Functional Date: Upgrades and expansions are ongoing, enhancing its capabilities for astronomical research.

5. Smart City Project, Jammu

The Smart City Project in Jammu has received a budget of INR 1,800 crores for infrastructure development. Govt wants to uplift the city infrastructure with initiatives for smart transportation, energy efficiency, digital governance, it will be implement in phase-manner, on ground progress is expected to happen by on or before 2025.
